Mars Hill Girls Win Youth Tourney More Errors Showing Up On Tax Forms The third and fourth grade girls Youth League basketball team won first place in the Twin County tournament. The little cagers defeated Marshall in the finals on a foul shot by Christy Grigg after a triple overtime, the final two overtimes being a "sudden death" situation. The team finished the regular season in se cond place. The girls were coached by Pat Worley and Rhonda Mace, and sponsored by Farm Credit Service. North Carolina taxpayers are making more errors on their Federal tax returns this year, the internal Revenue Service says, mostly in arithmetic and the wrong tax table. A doublecheck of all figures should help reduce the math errors, the IRS says, but a lit tle more care should be taken in using the tax table. To reach the correct tax figure, find the tax table which fits the filing status (single, married, etc.) and locate the taxable income line. At the top of the table the number of exemptions are listed and where this figure crosses with the taxable in come, this is the correct tax. If the figure is smaller than what was withheld, the taxpayer is due a refund. If it is larger, ad ditional tax is owed and the IRS is due a check.
