A total of 33 program aides from across the state received 10-year service awards at the recent "On -Campus Days" for EFNEP aides at North Carolina State University. The EFNEP program of the Agricultural Extension Ser Ball Family Gathers For Reunion The Ball family reunion was held Sunday, July S at the home of Mr. and lib's. Richard Ball in Mars Hill. A total of 87 persons attend ed the event including Mr. and Mrs. Coleman Ball, Lincoln Park, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Ball of Horse Shoe; Mr. and Mrs. Kimsey Ball, Alex ander; Jeanette Cooper, Brevard; Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Rice, Leicester; and the Robert Robertses, the Howard Riddless, the Richard Balls, all of Marshall. Its objective is to help families with limited resources, especially those with young children, to ac quire knowledge, skills, at titudes and changed behavior to improve their diets. The program is currently in operation in 96 counties, in cluding the Cherokee Indian Reservation, reaching 73,000 North Carolina families. EFNEP program aides usually live in the community where they work and teach on an individual or small group basis. As of March 31, 1961, a total of 261 aides were permanently employed on a part-time basis. The "On-Campus Days," held this year for the sixth time, are designed to acquaint the aides with the resources of the university, present educa tional programs and stimulate ideas and enthusiasm for future work. Speakers addressing the EFNEP aides included University of North Carolina President William Friday, Ex tension Director T C. Blalock, Dean J.E. Legates of the School of Agriculture and Life Sciences and Mrs. Minnie Miller Brown, state home economics agent and ad ministrator of the EFNEP program. Youth Choir To Present Musical Drama i The Youth Choir of the Boil ing Springs Baptist Church will present a musical drama, "Bright New Wings," on July 19 at 7 p.m . in the First Baptist Church of Marshall. The choir has recently returned from a week-long mission tour to New York, presenting the program in churches, nursing homes and on village greens en route and in the Farmingdale Baptist Church in New York.
