Ralph Ponder
Ralph Clark Ponder of Mar
shall died Saturday at
Memorial Mission Hospital in
Aahavilfe
A lifelong resident of
Madison County and a
graduate of North Carolina
State University, Ponder was
employed by the N.C. Depart
ment of Transportation in
Madison County.
Services were held on Mon
day in the Marshall First Bap
tist Church. Revs. Buddy
Freeman and Pete DeSaix of
ficiated. Burial was conducted
at the Ponder Cemetery.
Surviving are the father,
Zeno Ponder of Marshall; the
mother Nina Lou Rustin
Ponder of Black Mountain;
two brothers, Z. Herbert
Ponder of Marshall and
Wallace Rustin Ponder of Hol
ly Springs; and a sister
Emagene P. Maar of Penrose.
The family requests that
memorials be made to Mar
shall First Baptist Church or
Mental Health Research.
Mrs. Addie Crow
Addie Treadway Crow of Rt.
5 Marshall died Sunday night
in her home. She was 78
years old. A native and
lifelong resident of Madison
County, she was the
daughter of the late Will and
Matilda Norton Treadway
and the widow of the late Ar
thur Crow who died in 1966.
Funeral services will be
held at 2:30 p.m. today in the
chapel of the Bowman
Funeral Home in Marshall.
Hie Rev. James Hensley will
officiate. Burial will follow
in the City Cemetery. Mrs.
Crow was a member of the
Davis Chapel Baptist
Church.
She is survived by a
daughter, Mrs. Claude
Boone of Marshall; three
brothers, Henry Treadway
of Marshall, Jasper Tread
way of Mars Hill and
Charlie Treadway of
Asheville; three sisters,
Jessie Griffin and Hattie
Crow of Marshall and Zora
Flynn of Catawba, a grand
son and a great-grandson.

scheduled today at 11 a.m. at
the Marshall Pint Baptist
Church The Revs Buddy
Freeman and George Moore
will officiate. Burial will be
conducted at the Bowman
Rector Cemetery.
Surviving are the parents,
Mr. and Mrs. James Quinn
of Marshall; the maternal
grandparents, James Fisher
of Alexander and Francis
Wallin of Marshall; and the
maternal foster grand
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wade
Rector.
The deceased was a native
of Nowalk, Cal. and had liv
ed in Madison County for
four years. A graduate of
Madison High School, he was
a rising sophomore at North
Georgia College.
The body will be placed in
the church 30 minutes prior
to the service.
Eula Mae Case
Eula Mae Case, 70, of Hot
Springs, died Sunday in her
home.
Funeral services will be
held Thursday at 11 a.m. at
the chapel of the Bowman
Funeral Home. The Rev.
Buddy Freeman will of
ficiate. Burial will follow the
service at the Bowman Rec
tor Cemetery.
Mrs. Case had lived in
Madison County for 54 years.
She is survived by four
daughters; Patsy Myers and
Allane Case of Witchita,
Kan., Helen Briggs of
Lynhurst, N.Y. and Madelyn
Nations of Athens, Ga. ; one
brother, Henry Thomas Hill
of Goldsboro, and 12 grand
children and two great
grandchildren.

followed the funeral at the
Mars Hill Cemetery. The

Mrs. Ammons is survived
by two daughters, Edna
Robinson of Pickens, S.C. and
Elwanda Wilson of Huntsville,
Ala.; a son, Rev. Dale Am
mons of Marshall; a sister,
Mrs. Wales West, and a
brother, Coleman Peek, both ]
of Asheville; five grand
children and five great
grandchildren.

Zenia Farms. The festival, a
benefit for the United Viet
nam Veteran's Organisa
tion, turned a cow pasture in
to Madison County's largest
city for the weekend as a
crowd promoters estimated
at 5,000 music fans converg
ed for a weekend of music in
the mountains.
Over a dozen bands enter
tained the crowd over the
weekend. Although a
shooting incident marred the
festival's opening on Satur
day night, there were no
other incidents reported.
Medical personnel reported
a broken arm and a number
of cases of sunburn in Sun
day's severe heat.
