marriage on Saturday afternoon at
the Harmony Hill Misionary Baptist
Church. The father of the bride, Rev.
Joseph E. Testerman, pastor of the
Harmony Hill Missionary Baptist
Church, conducted the wedding
ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Rev.
and Mrs. Joseph Testerman. The
bridegroom is the son of Melvin C.
Wykle of Whittier
The bride was given in marriage by
her father. Joyce Buckner provided
music during the service.
The bride's sister, Theresa
Crowder of Weaverville, served as
the matron of honor.
The bridegroom's cousin, James
Gunter, served as the best man.
Lawrence Crowder of Weaverville
served as an usher.
Following the ceremony, a recep
tion was held in the bride's home.
The bride is a graduate of North
Buncombe H.S.
[ The bridegroom is a graduate of
A.C. Reynolds H.S. and is employed
by Frank Briggs Construction Co.
The couple will make their home in
Candler.

training at the Marine Corps Recruit
Depot at P arris Island, S.C.
Holtkamp is a 1984 graduate of
Madison High School. He is the son of
Freddy and Barbara Holtkamp of
Mars Hill.
Lisa Marie Blackwell of Marshall
and Richard Hugh Ball of Mars Hill
were united in marriage Saturday
afternoon in the Walnut Freewill Bap
tist Church by the Rev. Dave
Aumiller.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Robert Blackwell of Mar
shall. The bridegroom is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Bali of Mars
Hill.
The bride was given in marriage by
her father.
Bruce Ballard provided music dur
ing the service.
Melissa Ball, the sister of the
bridegroom, served as the maid of
honor. Diane Webb of Woodfin and
Cindy Marlor of Marshall served as
bridesmaid*. Tammy Sbelton of Mar
shall was a Junior attendant.
Kenneth English and Marc Ball of
Mars Hill, the cousins of the
bridegroom, served as ushers along
with Jobie Chandler of Mars Hill,
Mickey Lewis of Asheville and
Robert Blackwell of Marshall, the
bride's brother.
Melissa Blackwell, the cousin of the
bride, served as the flower girl.
Frankie Dale Blackwell, also the
cousin of the bride, served as the
' ring bearer.
The bride is a graduate of Madison
High School and is employed by
Micro Switch in Mars Hill.
The bridegroom is a graduate at
Madison H.S. and is employed by
Product Engineering of Biltmore.
The couple will make their home in
Mars Hill.

Speaker of the North Carolina
House Liston B. Ramsey and his seat
mate, Rep. Charles Beall of Canton
were winners in Tuesdays election.
Neither man was opposed for re
election to the 52nd House District.
Ramsey will be returning to the
General Assembly for his eleventh
term. He is expected to run for an un
precedented third term as house
speaker when the legislature con
venes in January.
Ramsey received 6,674 votes in in
complete returns. Beall polled 6,366,
also in the early returns.
