Rector said Taylor and Murphy drove him from his Cotton Mill Hill home for several weeks while lines were being install ed and damaged his home during con struction. Rector said the contractor installed water lines on top of sewer lines on Cotton Mill Hill and questioned whether the practise was legal. Ed Niles said he believed that water and sewer lines are also together on a sec tion of Walnut Creek Rd. In the only other business at Mon day's marathon session, the alder man approved a donation of $750 for the Marshall Christmas pageant to be staged this weekend anid authorized the purchase of insulation for Town Hall to reduce heating costs. No estimate on the cost of the insulation was given at the meeting. Both ap propriations were approved on mo tions made by Ed Niles and seconded by Sammy Lunsford. Board member John Dodson did not attend Monday's meeting. Mayor Betty Wild also commended both the Marshall and Mars Hill Volunteer Fire Depts. and the French Broad Electric Membership Corp. for their work at the fire which destroyed the Bowman Hardware warehouse last month.
