Combined Choir Plans Easter Musical The combined choirs of churches in the French Broad Baptist Association will perform the Easter musical "He Lives!" at Piney Mountain Baptist Church on Sunday. March 31, beginn ing at 7 p.m. Directed by William Pegg, choir director at Calvary Bap tist Church in Mars Hill, the program will be presented in lieu of the Association's Fifth Sunday Hymn Sing. The program, written by Joe Parks, is a musical account of Jesus' last week on earth. Beginning with "Christ the Lord is Risen Today", the musical traces the events leading up to the resurrection of the Lord. " Ten Thousand Hosannas" expresses ex citement as Jesus makes his entry in to Jerusalem. Later, as Jesus relates to his disciples that one of them will betray Him, they ask "Is It I, Lord? Is It I?". Stirring testimonies accom pany the spiritual "Were You There?" Finally, rejoicing with Mary and the others, we know that "He Lives!" Parks, in commenting on his motivation for producing the musical, says "I know Christ is alive. I have felt His presence in my life. 'He Lives!' is a personal expression of jpy and gradtitute in my living God." The production of the musical will utilize several media sources : choral offerings in traditional and contem porary settings, solos, narration, and a variety of instrumentation, all with one purpose, proclaiming the good news of Easter-He Lives! The public is invited to attend the production at Piney Mountain Church. Johnson's Farm & Home Supply North Main St. Weaverville 645-6957 COMPLIMENTS OF MRS. FLORENCE RAMSEY O. A. Gregory Inc.
