The bride is the duaghter of Bobby
and Alline Allen of Barnardsville.
The bridegroom is the son of Johnny
and Shirley Strickland of Weaver
viUe.
Amos Jackson provided music dur
ing the ceremony
The bride was given in marriage by
her father. She wore a white satin and
lace gown with long sleeves edged in
lace. She wore a white hat trimmed in
seed pearls and carried a bouquet of
silk blue flowers
Her sister. Judy Allen of Barnard
sville. served as the maid of honor.
She wore a tea-length blue dress and
carried a bouquet of blue flowers on a
white lace fan

of Barnardsville. Sally Roberts of

The bride is a graduate of North
Buncombe H.S. and Asheville
Buncombe Technical College. She is
employed by McDonalds as an assis
tant manager.
The bridegroom is a graduate of
North Buncombe H.S. and currently
attends A-B Tech. He is employed by
LYF-TYM Products. Inc.
After a wedding trip to Daytona
Beach. Fla. the couple will make
their home on Bannister Drive in
Asheville.
Dodd Graduates
Airman Chris A. Dodd, son of Har
ris S. Dodd of Rural Route 2, Robin
sonville, N.C., and Willie Mae Duan
of Rural Route 4, Weaverville, N.C.,
has graduated from the U. S. Air
Force carpentry specialist course at
Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas.
During the course, students were
taught cabinet and building construc
tion, maintenance and repair,
assembly of prefabricated struc
tures, and the use and care of various
carpentry tools. They also earned
credits toward an associate degree
through the Community College of
the Air Force.

Rhonda Kaye Penland of Weaver
viUe and Jeffrey Michael Wise of
Enka were united in marriage Satur
day evening in a ceremony conducted
in the Hominy Baptist Church.
Dr. Fred Warren of the Hominy
Baptist Church presided.
The bride is' the daughter of Steve
W. Penland of Ft. Mill. S C. and the
late Marcia Crawford Rogers. The
bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Howard Wise Jr. of Enka-Candler.
Juanita Roberts and Gary Hensley
provided music during the ceremony.
The bride wore a French wedding
gown with a cathedral length train
and carried a bouquet of roses.
The bride's sister, Regina Penland
of Weaverville, served as the maid of
honor. Donna Stamey of Candler, the
bridegroom's sister, served as a
bridesmaid along with Marilyn
Wright of Candler, Mary West. Katha
Morgan, Tammy Revis and Jill West.
The bridesmaids wore formal pink
gowns and carried bouquets of pink
and burgundy flowers.
Howard William Wise Jr. served as
the best man.
