Gantt, Gentry Marry Catharine Ann Gantt and Timothy Landon Gentry were united in mar riage Saturday at 4 p.m. at the University Botanical Gardens in AsheviUe. The Rev. Jack Laughlin of Grace Convenant Presbyterian Church in Asheville conducted the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Augusta Pharr Gantt of Sanford and the late Dr. Charles Herman Gantt of Spruce Pine. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dillard Andrew Gentry of Hunter Creek, Marshall. Given in marriage by her brother, Charles David Gantt of Arden, the bride wore her mother's wedding gown of white satin and Chantilly lace. The fitted bodice featured self covered buttons and an off-the shoulder portrait neckline. The skirt and train were outlined by panels of lace. The fingertip veil of illusion was attached to a cap of tiny pearls. She carried a cascade bouquet of mums, miniature carnations and white silk roses surrounded by springerii fern greenery and baby's breath. Matron of honor was Nancy Brickhouse of New York City. She wore a navy blue tea-length dress and carried a nosegay bouquet of mums, miniature carnations and peach silk roses surrounded by springerii fern greenery and baby's breath. Catherine Crawford Ceips of Roanoke, Va., and Charise Lowery Gantt of Arden, sister-in-law of the bride, served as bridesmaids. They wore navy blue tea -length dresses and carried bouquets like that of the Frank Gentry of Alexander, brother of the groom, served as best man. Ushers were Buford Henderson of Asheville and Keith Hartsoe of Arden. An outdoor reception was held im mediately following the ceremony at the gardens under a large white canopy. Gwen Emery of Leicester, Karen Barret, Ruthie Plum and Anne Hickey served at the reception. The bride's mother wore a long peach dress with fitted bodice and ac cordion pleated skirt. The couple will reside in Alex ander. The bride is a graduate of Duke University with a bachelor of science degree in psychology and attended Sanford Central High School. The groom attended Madison High School and is self-employed as a rock mason. The bride-elect is a 1987 graduate of Mars Hill College with a bachelor of arts degree in religious education. Box 369 Rape Crisis Workshop Planned Ashe vi Lie-Buncombe Technical Col lege will hold a special class to train residents, public service employees and health professionals so they can offer informed assistance to sexually assaulted people. Classes will begin today (Thurs day) and continue through June 8. The class is designed for residents who would like to become Rape Crisis volunteers and current volunteers, law enforcement personnel, medical employees, educators, mental health and social service employees, criminal and juvenile justice person nel, clergy and students. The training will help those who deal with the sexually assaulted gain a better understanding of sexual assault and its impact on the victim and society. All classes vfill meet in Room 102 of the Education Building at A-B Tech.
