Obituaries Seltas Cantrell Seltas Franklin Cantrell, 81, of SI Miller Road, died Friday in a Madison County rest home. - A lifelong resident of Madison County, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Dora Tweed Franklin. She was the wife of Hezikiah Cantrell, who died in 1969. Mrs. Cantrell was a member of Memorial Church of God. Surviving are two daughters ; Delia Lee Roberts and Alama Lee Cantrell of Marshall; two sons; Oliver Franklin and Sam Cantrell of Mar shall; three sisters; Ola Sams of Greeneville, Tenn., Loretta Cantrell of Marietta, S.C., and Devona Gilbert of Marshall; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services were at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Bowman Funeral Home. The Rev. Johnny "Bud" Marlor officiated. Burial was in the Bowman-Rector Cemetery. Larry Davis Larry Gaston Davis, , 58, of 2245 Highway 209, died Friday at his home. A lifelong resident of Madison County, he was the son of the late George and Minnie Fortner Davis. He was a self-employed carpenter and attended Liberty Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Madgline Waldroup Davis; a daughter, Wanda Makhyoun of Waynesville; a sister, Gretchen Strickland of Old Fort; and two grandchildren. Services were 2:30 Monday in Liberty Baptist church. The Revs. Frank Willett and Billy Gillespie of ficiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Bowman Funeral Home, where the body remained until 30 minutes before services. liOvada Ledford Lovada Cody Ledford, 79, of Route 8, Riverview Road, Asheville, died Saturday in an Asheville hospital. A native of Madison County, she had lived in Buncombe County for 45 years. She was a member of First Church of God in Marshall. Her parents were the late Gabriel and Rachel Ball Cody and her husband, Jeter Ledford, died in 1980. 1 She is survived by a son, Maretin Lee Ledford of Canton , three sisters, Althea Shelton of Flag Pond, Tenn., Laura Buckner of Arden and Avelon Staffon of Gwinnett, Ga.; and two grandchildren. Services were 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home. The Rev. Jackie W. Collins officiated. Burial was in Green Hills Cemetery. The family received friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Bruce Cantrell Bruce Cantrell, 42, of Route 3, Watershed Road, died Friday. A lifelong resident of Madison County, he was a truck driver with the N.C. Department of Corrections and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Mars Hill VFW Post No. 5483 and was a son of Victoria Hensley Cantrell of Mars Hill and the late Willard Cantrell. Surviving, in addition to the mother, are his wife, Brenda Lewis Cantrell; a daughter, Becky Cantrell of the home; a son, Frank Cantrell of the home; and two brothers. Gene Cantrell of Charlotte and R.L. Can trell of Asheville. Services were at 2 p.m. Monday in Laurel Bend Baptist Church, of which he was a member and deacon. The Rev. Jerry Shelton officiated.
