Obituaries John T. Flynn, Sr. John Thomas Flynn Sr., 90, of 16 Fisher Lane, died Sept. 13 in a Charlotte hospital. A native of Madison County, he was a son of the late Walker and Lucinda Griffin Flynn. A retired farmer, he was the husband of the late Doris West Flynn. He is survived by three sons, John T. Flynn, Jr., and Van Flynn of Brevard, and Earl Flynn of Greer, S.C.; a daughter, Joyce Cockran of Charlotte; four brothers, Daniel James, Lloyd and Frank Flynn of Marshall; three sisters, Etta Tipton of Asheville, Carrie Tipton and Callie Wallin of Marshall; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services were held Friday in Walnut Creek Baptist Church in which he was a member. The Revs. Billy Gillespie and Gerald Sprinkle officiated. Burial was in Bowman Rector Cemetery. Ervin C. Lewis 1 Mich., died Sept. 12 in Ecors< Ervin. C. Lewis, 78, of A native of Buncombe County, he had lived in Madison County before moving to Michigan 25 years ago. A retired carpenter, he was a son of the iate Benjamin Harrison and Cora Rice Lewis. He is survived by his wife, Carrie Cantreli Lewis; four sons, Clyde, Gary and Alden Lewis of Ecorse, and Ashley Lewis of Lincoln Park, Mich. ; two daughters, Ruby Benette of Lin coln Park and Christine Tackett of Wyandotte, Mich.; two brothers, Marion Lewis of Jonesborough, Tenn.and Ralph Lewis of Enka; 11 grandchildren and five great* grandchildren. Services were held Friday in Big Laurel Baptist Church of which he was a member. The Rev. George Massey will officiate. Burial was in the Lewis Branch Cemetery. Timothy C. She was a former resident of Silver Spring, Md., and had resided at the retirement home in Swannonoa for seven years. She was the widow of the late Erwin L. LeClerg. She was 93 A native of Madison County, she had lived in Haywood County for 23 years and was a member of the Mount Zion Baptist Church. Surviving are: one daughter, Mar tha Plemmons of Hot Springs; two sons, Sam Kirkpatrick of Hot Springs and Joe Price of Clyde; one brother, Jack Caldwell of Candler; three grandchildren and give great grand children, and one great-great grand child.
