Everything: is moving along nicely I
in the cove at present, The larn'iers
are very busy taking care of the
wheat crop which in yield and quan- ,
tity is most gratifying to the farm-1
ers. Corn is looking nne, tne seaion
has been of such a nature that en-t
abled the farmer to cultivate his crop
thoroughly and he has sure taken the
advantage of ns opportunity and now
is ready to put on the finishing.
Truck, oats and grass on high land
will be a little short, but the show
ers for the last two or three weeks
has made a decided improvement and
the prospect is there will be an aver
age yield. Garden vegetables are n:it
very encouraging in some gardens.
The cut worms played havoc in the
early part of the season, te cab
bage worm and bean beetle has made
there appearance in some sections,
jbut so far have not damaged the crop
very extensively. The potato crop
promises to be very good with the j
present outlook, with a reasonably J
good fruit crop thrown in, the farm
ers of the community can live at home J
and not go to town or some western
state for their flour and other sup
plies.
Dr. P. A. Roberts of Haywood In
