Quite a number of our people, es pecially those Methodistically inclin ed, attended the celebration of Hay wood county day at Lake Junaluska last Sunday and were greatly bene fitted by hearing a most excellent sermon delivered by Bishop Edwin D. Mouzon. We think it very helpful spiritually and educationally for one to attend religious functions and preaching from home occasionally and hear such men as Bishop Mou zon, George Truett and Tom Dixon. In so doing one allows a good spirit and is restrained from becoming narrow and predjudical which we think is quite sinful. , The Haywood Coun: Singinqr Convention here in the State high school auditorium on the State highway, second Sunduy in Septem ber, promises to be one of unusual interest. The convention will open promptly at ten o'clock a. m. with Prof. E. Starrfey reading from the sacred Scriptures and invoking di vine blessings and guidance.
