from 3 to o o'clock when they were

Haywood County's most beloved

est apple orchards in Western North
Carolina, surrounded on all sides by

Mr. and Mrs. Black were married
in Greenwood, S. C- on the 29th of
November, 1881, at the home of Mrs.
Black's parents. Before her mar
riage Mrs. Black was Miss Leila
Maxwell Bell. The wedding ceremony
was performed by Rev. John MeLeos,
a noted Presbyterian minister of that
state. One of the wedding, guests of
f : fry years ago, Mrs. H. M. Prince, of
Anderson, South Carolina, was pres
ent for the celebration Saturday
Mr. and Mrs. Black spent their
married life in Charlotte until seven
years ago when they came to Western
North Carolina lured by the climate
and unsurpassed beauties of the
mountains. '

day and returned Sunday.

giving holidays at his home in Gaff

the Baptist church, of which he is a
former pastor.

The Rev. ' Dr. Walker, pastor of the
Presbyterian church here is speaking
at the regular Wednesday evening
services a series of talks dealing with
the different Sficers of the church.
Last night he spoke on the 'Deacon."
Wednesday night, December 9, he will
speak on "The Elder. The following
Wednesday night his topic will be on
"The preacher." December 23 his talk
will be 4n "The members.'
