was celebrated last Saturday morning
when Miss Hilda Smathers, daughter

officiating- She entered the room on
the arm of her sister, Mrs;. '-Bruce
Sellers, the grom on the arm of Mr.
Bruce Sellers. The room was beau
tifully decorated with a profusion of
flowers. The bride was very beauti
ful wearing an evening dress and
carrying a bouquet of bride's roses.

business here last Friday.
Mr. Guy Brock of Hazelwood met
instant death last Saturday night
when his car left the highway half
a mile west of Clyde, went down a
bank into the river. He had ln-en
under the car two or three feet un
der water about two hours when h
and the car were brought to land
by West Motor -Company. The men
with-him escaped unhurt.
A very interesting basketball game
was played here last Friday evening
between the Enka quintet, ami the
"Clyde All Stars," resulting in a
score of 1 1 to 10 in favor of the
victory for the Clyde team when they
contend with the Enkaites next time.
Last Sunday the Baptist Sunday
School elected the following officers
for the ensuing year: Superintend
ent, Grover C, Haynes; assistant

Francis Leatherwood; assistant sec
