Work On Vocational Building Is Under Way On School Yard Construction work began last Wed nesday morning on the temporary building to be erected for the depart ment of vocational agriculture m the Waynesville Township schools. The building is being erected on the high school grounds and the work i being done by the students of the vocational department, with Prof. W. D. Smith, vocational director, m charge. Mr. Smith said that the boys of the department together with some of the students of several years ago, had risen to the occasion and had helped to save the department to the schools this year. He explained that the State department cf education had required, in order to continue the aid to the school here, that a shop build ing be put up ; but that the county commissioners declined to furnish the money for such a building. Friends of the school got together and laid plans for the construction of a build ing that would meet the needs this year, with the result that the boys of the department naVe volunteered to furnish all rock and sand needed for the building and to do all the carpen ter and masonry work. Mr. Smith, who is superintending the work, said that the temporary structure will meet the demands of the State department for this year. It will be a framed building 26 feet wide and 45 feet long with sheet rock roofing and sides, built according to the requirements of the Federal government for such buildings.
