Hazelwood, Clyde, Canton, Biltmore, Oteen, Sylva, and Bryson City. The opening ode was sung by the ambience. Mrs. Hilda Simons, retiring worthy matron- opened the meeting with a welcome address and called on Rev. II: W. Baucom for the invocation. A drill given by the team of Rain bow girls from Asheville was one of the features of the evening. They received much applause. Miss Lillian Kerney, of Asheville. ang two solos. Miss Frances Britt of Asheville, was organist. Mrs. L. E. Green, Mrs. Lucile Foy, and Miss Mildred Crawford, all of Waynesville, sang a trio. Mrs. Jos. F. Johnson was organist. Mrs. Simons then introduced the dis trict grand matrons. Mrs. Eunice Church, of the loth district, Bryson City- and Mrs Minnie E. Lewis, of the 12th district, Asheville. Mr, Lewis installing officer. T Rogers, of Prentiss, cel ebrated his eighty-second birthday on last Friday. March ''A. Mr, Rogers moved to Macon county from Haywood about twenty-three years ago. He is a farmer of excel lent ability and at 82 years of age is still in splendid health and operates his farm without help. Among the fifty guests who attended the birthday dinner were his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends. They were: Mr. and Mrs. II. V.
