MISSES BURGIN OBSERVE MITHER'S BIRTHDAY On Tuesday evening the Misses Minnie and Lillian Burgin were hos tesses at a surprise party honoring their mother. Mrs. F. A. Burgin, in ceebration of her birthday anniver sary. A profussion of summer flowers decorated the rooms where the guests were received. RALPH PREVOST Of unusual interest is the an nouncement of the marriage of Miss Dorothy Lane to Mr. Ralph Prevost which was solemnized last Saturday afternoon at six o'clock at the home of the bride's aunt. Mrs. Grady Boyd, and Mr. Boyd. Only members of the immediate families witnessed the cere mony which was performed by Dr. R. P. Walker, pastor of the Presby terian church. Beauty of detail and simplicity characterized the decorations in the home- Two young couins of the the -only attendants. Edwina wore a blue ruffled organdy frock ami Barba ra wore dainty pink ruffle,l organdy They carried Msrie Antoinette bask ets filled with pink sweet peas and baby's breath. The bride and groom entered to gether. The bride, who is a strik ingly beautiful brunette, was attired ii. a traveling ensemble of brown crepe, with a smart snug fitting little brown hat and all accessories in brown. Her corsage vas of pink roses arid delphenium. Following the ceremony the voung couple motored to Fairfield Inn near Highlands for a week. The bride is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Z. Lane, of Nashville, Tennessee, and a grand daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Bell, for many years prominent as the proprietors of the Kenmore Hotel and later of the Hotel Waynesville. She was .educated' -at-. Ward-Belmont college at Nashville. Tennessee and Agnes Scott College at Decatur, Georgia. The groom is the oldo-t son of Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Prevost. He was graduated from the University of North Cai'olina and is a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. For two years he was an official of the Coleman Furniture company at Pulaski, Virginia aand waas later made president of 'the Union 'Furni ture Company of the same city. He left Pulaski in December, 1931 and since that time has been secretary treasurer of the Unagusta Maanufac- turing Company of which his father is president. MRS.
