Miss Shelby Semmes left Monday
for her home in Chicago, Illinois, af
ter a two weeks' visit to her cousin,
Mrs. Cleveland Perry, at Chestnut
Lodge, Dr. and Mrs. J. R. MvCracken,
and Mrs. R. H. Mitchel. During her
visit here Miss Semmes was the re
cipient of much social attention.
Mr. C. E. Burn of Charleston, South
Carolina and son, Mr. Charles H.
Burn, of Columbia arrived last Wed
nesday and will spend the summer at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. John N.
Shoolbred. The Burns have been pop
ular visitors to Waynesville for many
years.
