Legume hays, such as cow pea, soy bean, iclover, and alfalfa are rich in calcium and will supply a .sufficient amount of this mineral for the aver age cow. Phosphorous is supplied by wheat bran, cottonseed meal, and soybean meal, These feeds contain about 30 percent of this mineral. It might be well to add two pounds of a mineral mixture composed of equal parts of fine ground limestone- and steamed bo:.e meal to each 100 pounds of the concentrate ration.
