H. Sccre.-t, chairman for Canton, stated that she also hail sent two bags from Canton. Notes of appreciation were toad from Mrs. J. W. Reed, Mrs. Jere Davis and Mrs. W. li. Matthews for flowers sent to thoTh duringrecent illness. Invitations were read from the 7th district inviting the members to attend the state conference to be held in Goldsboio on the 5, 0, and 7 of March anil also one from the state regent, Mrs. W', II, Helk, of Charlotte, urging the chapter to send represen tatives to the meeting. A letter was read from .Mrs. (). II. Meyer. state magazine chairman of Uendorsonville, . asking the members to take advantage of the P'esent subscription offer. Mrs. Dunlan, state genealogist, asked that the members collect . dates from old cemeteries. The regent introduced Miss Anne Peck, of Lake Junaluska, who has been tlected by the high school to represent the local chapter in the Ruth Kryan Owen citizenship, contest. Mrs. Howell stated that she had been selected by virtue of .scholarship, char acterhonesty, and citizenship. Shy. was given the hearty endorsement of the members. Mrs. Howell tated.
