Ray entertained a group of friends with an al'. day quilting party. The guests enjoyed working on a wedding ring quilt of lovely colors. At noon luncheon was served from a beautifully appointed table centered by a hwl o: yellow chrysanthemums, with the color effect bein? noticed in the other details. Ba- Jr. m HALLOWE'EN PARTY GIVEN AT NURSE'S HOME ; On Wednesday evening the person nel of the Haywot'd County Hospital tnte'tatned their friends with a mas querade party in the living rooms of the Nurses Home. The entire lower floor was beautifully decorated with autumn leaves and chrysanthemums. The col:r note of black and yellow was' noticeable in the profussion of bia k cats and jack o'lanterns placed about the rooms. Games and dancing were enjoyed throughout the evening, with, the mu sic furnished by the Marion Howell eolored orchestra. Keen interest cen tered in the awarding of the prizes for the best costumes. The fir.st prize for the women was wqn by Miss Grace Plott Campbell, who was dressed as a bell hop. The first among the men was won by Dr. P. M. Sherrill, who came as an angel. The .second prize for the women was awarded t o Mrs. Ida Mullis, who came as an old fash ioned lady, and the second for the men was won by Mr. Walter Crawford, who was dressed as a Chinese gentle man. The guests enjoyed toasting maish mallows at a large bonfire which was kept burning on the lawn. Punch, cakes, apples and salted huts w-ere also served. Around seventy-five guests were in attendance. 9 ' Mr. Aaron Prevost spent the week end in Richmond, as the . guest of friends. Mr'!
