Kitchen, of Mills River, of the mar riage of their daughter, Misg Eliza beth Kitchen, to Mr. John Cuddeback. The wedding took place on Saturday afternoon in the Centra! Presbyte rian church of Atlanta, Ga., with a small tfroup of friends in attendance. Rev. Ri hard Owen Flinn, pastor of the chuich. pronounced the marriage vows. Miss Kitchen has been residing in Waynesville for the past eighteen month, anH has made many friends here durinz that time. She is the labomtory technician of the Health Unit of which Haywood county is a part. She received her training at the Jeffenson College Hospital, of Philadelphia. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Cuddeback, of West Pitts ton, Penn. He has been living here for the past three years, and holds a position with the England-Walton Company, of Hazelwood. Following a brief wedding trip Mr. and Mrs. Cuddeback will be at home to their friends on Pigeon street. Mr. and Mrs. B. S. Marsh and daugh ter, Miss Dollee Mansh, and son, Mr. Bryon Marsh, left on Tuesday for Rochester, N. Y., where they were called on account of the critical ill ness of the former's father. MUs Dorothy Bliss leaves this week for Chicago, where she will spend the remainder of the summer and the win ter months a the guest of relatives. Father Howard V. Lane has as his trues'., Mrs. H. J. Lane and MLss Sally Lane, of Rochester, N. Y. Mr. and Mrs. E.T. Duckett have as their guest the former's sister-in-law, Mrs. Clint Duckett, of Detroit, Michigan. Miss Dorothy Champion, of Raleigh, .spent last week in Waynesville as guest of Mrs. R. L. Underwood and family. BENEFIT PARTY SOCIAL AND MISS MARY MORROW BEATTY MRS FINANCIAL SUCCESS The benefit bridge party given on Thursday night at the Hotel Gordon under the auspices of the Ways anil Means committee lof Ithe Woman's Club, was a success both socially and financially. At the entrance to the Beatty apartment, Mrs. Beatty and Mr3. M. G.Stamey greeted the guests. The first part of the evening was featured by a treasure hunt on the spacious lawn, after which the guests enjoyed dancing. Punch was served throughout the evening by Mrs. J. w. S., will hold the regular stated meeting tonight in the Masonic Tem ple. Visiting members in town are cordially invited to attend the meeting. Mr. R. L. Hartly, who has been visiting Mr. and Mrs. M. HBowles, for the past week, has returned to has home in Irwinton, Ga. He was ac companied home by his daughter, Mrs. Bowles, who will remain with her parent for a month's visit. Mrs. Fred Carey and two sons, Mr. Fred Carey, Jr., and Mr. Jimmy Carey, of Hartford, Conn., have ar rived in town this week and are guests of the former's mother, Mrs. Margaret Moody. Mrs. Carey is the former Miss Elizabeth Moody. Mr W. C. Medford, Miss Mildred Medford, and Mr. Ernest Messer, of Canton spent the week-end in Rob binsville. Miss Diana Black, accompanied by her young niece, Miss Mary Snyder, who ha been her guest, left Friday for Staunton, Va., where they will be members of a house party given by Mr. A. A. Markley, Jr., of that place. Mt3. S, J. Ssehulhofer, who has been spending several weeks at the Hotel Waynesville, left on Friday for her home in Richmond, Va. Mrs. Schulhofer may return to town again in the fall.
