CLARK OBSERVES BIRTHDAY ON FINES CREEK The family of Mr. Z. R. Clark cele brated his birthday anniversary on Sunday by having a family gathering at the home on Fines Creek. At noon a lunch was enjoyed on the lawn. Fol lowing this a service was held with Rev. Pink McCracken and Rev. Frank Leatherwood, the latter pastor of the Finetf Creek Baptist church, making talks. Mrs s I Miller has filed suit for a divorce; and Mr. Miller has filed a cross 'bill ask ing for the custody of the eldest of their three sons, who is nine. The Millers have spent the past three summers in Waynesville, and have numerous friends here. Mr. Mil ler who has beeni ill for the past to years, did not accompany the family here this summer. In 1921, when she was 17 years of age, and just out of high s hool, Ml" Miller married her English teacher, and principal, Will D. Miller. Her husband, she afterwards said, had fii-t stirred her interest in literature and dramatics. Christian Training School Starts On 8th A Christian Workers Training School will be conducted at Long s Chapel, beginning Sunday, November the 8th and will last through the 13th, under the auspices of the Methodist Episcopal churches o fthe county. A course in missionary education for children will be offered, with Miss Corinne l.ittk as instructor. This course will be given for interested parents and workers with children. A course will be offered in the sen ior department of the Sunday school with the text, "Administering the Young People's department in the local church." Mrs. John V. Kirk, of Greensboro, will be the instructor of this group, which will be for the young people above sixteen years of age and their adult leaders. All coun selors, otlicei's and teachers should attend with the young people. Rev. K. H. Nease, of Asheville will offer, u course in worship, and his text will be "Guiding the Experience in Worship. " The course is a general one in worship for any member of the church, chinch school, or missionary society. While the courses are being held under the auspices of the Methodist church, all Sunday school .and church workers of other denomination, are invited to attend. REVIVAL IS A St ( CKSS The revival services that have been conducted at Harbersville church by Rev. Ike Rhinehnrt, closed on Wed nesday night. The meetings have been largely attended, with thirty pro fessions! of faith. Rev. Mr. Rhinehart will begin ser vices on Sunday night at Panther 'Creek-, which will make the sixth re vival meeting he has held in the I county during the 'past few weeks.
