Control Of Social
Diseases Studied
The . conference held on the control
of social diseases at the Central Ele
mentary school,, on. Wednesday after
noon, was attended bv approximately
seventy-five teachers and others in
terested in this problem,
The conference was held prima
rily to emphasize the teaching of sex
hygiene in the schools and t. call
attention to the splendid programs
by the state.
The two principal talks were made
by A. S. Combs, of the State Depart
ment of Education, and Dr. G, M.
Leiby, of the State Hoard of Health.
Dr. Leiby illustrated his talk with
lantern slides. He gave many alarm
ing statistics on the number of per
sons afflicted, showing the effects, and
offering solutions ftip the control of
social diseases. He also spoke of the
increase of cases in the schools in the
state.

Will Be Here Today
W. R. Palmer, deputy commissioner
of the State Department of Revnue,
announces that there will be a rep
resentative of the Department of Rev
enue in the commissioner's room at
the court house both morning and af
ternoon of today.
The representative is sent here
from the department for the purpose
of assisting persons in filling out the
income taxe returns. All persons un
married having an income of $1,000 .
and all married persons making as
much as 2,000 are l-equired to till out
these blanks.

night at 7:45. The subject of his talk
