May 15 and 16 Some fifty-three years ago, our father establish ed the original Wells Funeral Home in Canton. It was a modern institution of its day, and throughout the years of his life, it was his policy to keep it abreast of the times by adding every new form of funeral ser vice as it was developed. It is the desire of his successor to continue this policy, and today the new J. M. Wells Funeral Home on Academy street is presented to the people of Can ton and the territory we serve as the culmination of earnest effort to make it the most beautiful, inviting and modern institution of its kinds in this section of the state. 7V ' The building is imposing in appearance, and the interior is carefully arranged and furnished to lend dignity and beautiful solemnity. The woodwork is of Carolina pine in natural finish, and all floors are cov ered with deep pile carpet in rich dubonnet with full length draperies to match. A soft mellow glow is sup plied by a system of indirect lighting. The chapel, with a seating capacity of 75, has an adjoining alcove to provide complete privacy for the family and loved ones of the deceased during the ser vice.. : A slumber room has been arranged to afford the quiet atmosphere of a private home, with furniture and furnishings of modern style. The embalming room is supplied with the very latest equipment and appliances. , Rolling stock is also modern in every respect, con sisting of a handsome Buick ambulance, Studebaker r- , 11 TV-" 1- O 1 J t 1 nrst-caii car, jouick d-way loauing luiierai car, anu a Dodge sedan for the family of the deceased. In our stock rooms we carry a large display of caskets, vaults and burial garments, and complete funeral service may be selected at prices ranging from $35 up. '.. Apartments on the second floor provide perma nent residence for the management and make it con venient to render the quickest service day or night.
