L. Wright, and Miss Helen Medford as associate hostess, at the home of the former. TV, liviny room was attractively arranged in quantities of marigolds and zinnias in vivid fall colors. 1 ne afternoon was featured by games, including several rounds of bingo in which useful and attractive prizes were given the winners. The wedding was solemnized Mon day afternoon at 5 o'clock at the home of the bride's sister, Mrs. J. Franklin Williams on Avery avenu-' and was witnessed by members of the immediate families. The home was decorated with a profusion of pretty summer flowers and in the living room where the vows were spoken pink gladioli and ferns were used. Immediately after the wedding Mrs. McDowell, mother of the bride, who makes her home with Mrs. Williams, entertained at a wedding supper in honor of the biide and bridegroom and those attending the wedding. The dining room was decorated with the bridal motif of white and green and a beautiful wedding cake was used as the central decoration of the table. Following the supper and cutting of the wedding cake Mr. and Mrs. Schnurer left by automobile for Nor folk, Va., where they took a boat for the New England coast. The bride is a daughter of Mrs. McDowell ami the late Dr. McDowell, of WayuesvMk'. For her wedding she wore an attractive costume of blue with matching accessories and a cor- j sage of valley lilies. She i sa grad l uate of Women's College of the Uni J versity of North Carolina where she j was outstanding in student activities being a member of the Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Kappa Delta societies. After her graduation she was award ed a two year fellowship to study at the University of Pittsburgh for her masters degree in social work, doing her field work with the Family So ciety of Pittsburgh. . Mr. Schnurer is a graduate of Car negie '1 ech at Pittsburgh. He is an engineer in the mam office of Carnegie Illionis Steel company. lie is also active in musical circles of Pitts burgh, serving as secretary ot the musical society of Pittsburgh. Mr. and Mrs. Scnurer will make their home in Pittsburgh after their wedding trip.
