CUTLER JOINS ' SALES FORCE Robert Cutler, son of Mel Cutler, Unagusta sales representative in the Chicago territory, has returned to his home in Chicasro. Young Cutler is joining the sales force in Chicaeo with his father. He has been with the Unugusta Manufact uring Co., since May learning how furniture is made so that he will be able to talk Unagusta quality furniture. RAY PARKER OPENS BAR BER SHOP ON MAIN STREET Rhv PurWur moved his Imrber ' shop from Canton and opened for j business Saturday in a building near the post,, office. Mr. ParRer has had thirty years experience in barbering, eighteen of which were spent in Hazelwood. He reminesc ed that his first barbering was done here in a room of a house be fore there were any paved streets in Hazelwood. Phillips, pastor of the East Flat Rock Baptist church, is conducting a training course in New Testament Stewardship, at the Baptist church of Hazelwood each night this week. AH church members are urged to attend and an invitation is ex tended to everyone to come. PRESBYTERIANS HEAR MISSIONARY Dr. William'. Junkin, for forty two years a missionary of the Southern Presbyterian church, spoke at the Hazelwood Presbyte rian church on Sunday evening. Dr. Junkin presented the various phases of the mission work in the Far East. He left here on Mon day morning for Charleston, V. Virginia. BRICK. The speaker of the evening, was Sherwood Brockwell, state Fire Marshal, of Raleigh, SEVERAL HAZELWOOD FANS SEE WORLD SERIES Several of the Hazelwood base ball fans made the trip to Cincin nati on -Friday to see the Yankees and Rids play the third and fourth games of the World Series. Those making the trip were R. A. Gaddis, James Kuykendall, Moody Hall, N. M. Davis, Mont Wright and Earl Scruggs. REV. O. C. LANDRUM ATTENDED PRESVYTRY The Rev. O. C. Landrum and T. G. Stump, delegates from the Ha zelwood Presbyterian church, 'at tended Presbytery in Robbinsville on Tusduy and Wednesday of this week. The circles of Women's Auxiliary of the Hazelwood Presbyterian church met on Tuesday evening. The Women's circle met at the home of of Mrs. T. G. Stump and the Business Women met at the home of Miss Edna Summerrow. Mrs. Laura Reardon and Miss Margaret Hahn, of The Gables, are visiting Mrs. Reardon's broth er in Charlotte this week. Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Davis and family spent Sunday with Mrs. Davis' parents at Mills River. B. Smathers, of Canton, Mrs. Moody Hall had dinner with friends on Sunday at The Tavern in Asheville. Mr. and Mrs. Vinson McElroy and Mr. and Mrs. Bob McElroy motored through the Great Smoky Moun tains National Park to points in East Tennessee on Sunday. Mrs. G. C, Summerrow spent the week-end in Canton with her broth er and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Allen. Fern Paris, formerly employed by C. N. Allen Co., is with the Morgan Candy Co., of Asheville.
