Burial was in Greenhill cemetery. Serving as pallbearer . were: The following granddaughters were in charge of the flowers: G;r aldine Parrish, Wanda Parriah, Dorothy Kinsland, Gertrude Brack et!, Juanita Brackett, Helen Rogers, Eloise Knight, Ruth Mas ay, and Bertie Lo Lancy. Glenn Farmer, Grady Farmer,! Merline Farmer, Luther Shock,! Hartman Fanner, and James i Whitehouse, Mrs. Bowen, a native of Macon county, came to this county at an early age with her parents, the late Tom and Kate Cooper Farm er. She is the widow of Eulin Bowen, of Mayesville, Ga, Surviving are: her bu -band; two sons. Lon Bowen, of Hazel- wood, and And Bowen, of Canton; four daughters, Mrs. Ralph White house, with whom she lived at her home in East Wayne ville; Mrs. Zeb Brackett, of Wayneiville, Mrs. Jess Kinsland, of Canton, and Mrs. Faren Parrish, of West Asheville, and twenty-five grandchildren. ROBERT ARTHUR DAVIS Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at the residence on the Balsam road i'or Robert Arthur Davis, 69, who d;ed at 9:30 o'clock on Monday morning at the Haywood County Hospital. The Rev. Ben Cook, pastor of the Pleas ant Balsam Baptist church offi ciated. Burial was in Plott cem ' etery. Serving as pallbearers were: Robirt Davis. Lawrence Hoooer. Henry Hooper, Ernest Hooper, Bob Hooper and Clarence Hooper. Mr. Davis, a native of this coun ty, was born on August the 14th, 1881. He is the son of Mrs Sarah Mehaffey Davis and the late John Davis. Surviving are: his widow, Mrs. Edith Pibtt Davis; one son, Glenn Davis, of Waynesville, rout 1; three daughters, Mrs. Lee Gordon, Mrs. j. a. Amngton, Mrs. Claude Diilard, all of route 1; his mother, Mrs. Sarah Davis, who has been, reading with him; one brother, Orion Davis, of route 1; 18 grand children and one great grandchild. ELISHA CONARD Funerel services were held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Maggie Baptist church for Elisha ixmard, 68, a farmer of that sec tion, who had been a life long resident of Haywood County. Mr. Conard died in the Haywood County Hospital here Thursday afternoon at one o'clock following brief Illness, At the funeral on Friday the Rev. John Finger officiated and burial was in the church cemetery. Surviving are the widow; two sons, Lester and Bruce; two daugh ters, Mrs. Delphia Shehan and Mrs. Dixie Taylor; his father, John Henry Conard; four brothers, Hor ace, Fred, Harley and Glenn Con ard; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Pitta and Mr Mamie t.it.terai n TT ., Vi uaywooa county. Love, of Asheville. trus tee for term expiring in 1943; and R. Lee Ellis and Mr. Love, member of the national council. The latter three, together with Mr. Jarvia and Mr Lipinky, were re-elected.
