Alley, president of the North Carolina Congress of Parents and Teachers, will be the honor guest of the Haywood County Council of the Parent Teacher association at a luncheon to be given at noon on Saturday. Following the luncheon the coun cil! will hold a meeting at which time, Junius Allison, of Asheville, president of the North Carolina Classroom Teachers association, will address the group on the va rious legislative programs which are being sponsored by the educa tional groups in the state. Mr Allison teaches m the Swannanoa high school. Installation of Mrs. Edward Glavich, as vice president, and Mrs. Carey Smathers, as recording sec retary, will be held. The other officers, Mrs. George A. Store Shoes Fitted by X-Ray Woman's Club Meets Today At Hotel LeFaine The March meeting of the Wo man's Club which was postponed from the 21st will be held this ar ternoon at the Hotel LeFaine at 3 o'clock, with Mrs. John M. Queen, Mrs. Grayden Ferguson, Mrs. R 11. Blackwell, Mrs. White Mease, and Mrs. J. R. Boyd as hostesses. Mrs. Frank Ferguson will have charge of tie program which will deal with features of interest .to the home. Clyde H. Ray, Jr., horti culturist, will outline plans for the llower show of the coining season. Mrs. Felix Stovall, president, will preside. William Stringfield, who is at tending the University of North Carolina, spent the Easter vaca tion here with his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Sam Stringfield. The Rev. and Mrs. William N. Neese had as their guests during the week Mr. and Mrs. Paul Suits and Mr, and Mrs. Colon Suits, all of Haw River. After visiting at the parsonage on Crabtree they left for other sections in Western North Carolina before returning to their homes. Weaver McCracken, who is at tending Western Carolina Teach ers College, spent several days during the week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Weaver McCracken, at their home near Lake Junaluska. Miss Myrtle Bennett, of Hender sonville, was the guest during the past week of her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. W. Curtis Russ. Mrs. R. E. Wood, of Elizabethton, Tenn, and her daughter, Miss Mary Wood, who is a student at the Uni versity of North Carolina, were the guests during the week of the former's mother, Mrsk John N. Shoolbred. Mr. and Mrs, W. Curtis Butt and small daughter, Marguerite Russ, were the guests of relatives in Hendersonville over the week end. Gene Francis, who is attending Western Carolina Teachers College, spent several days during the past week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Francis, at their home in the Ratcliff Cove. Miss Vera Hosaflook, who is a student at Western Carolina Teach ers College, spent the spring vaca tion here with her parents. Miss Robena Miller is spending several weeks in Griffin, Ga., as the guest of Mr. and Mrs. George A. Niles. Mrs. Niles is the form er Miss Sadie Miller, sister of Miss Miller. Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Robeson, Jr., two young daughters Frances and Martha, and son, E. J. Her 21st, and It's a Boy Mrs. Marietta Romtto of Bedford, Ohio, is shown with her neest baby, her twenty-first in thirty years of married life. This is her nineteenth boy, seventeen of whom are living. Mr. Romito, a very very proud father, is the proprietor of a candy store. Ernest L. Withers, Jr., who is now located in Houston, Texas, is visiting his family here. Mrs. James L. Stringfield is spending a fortnight in Raleigh with her daughter, Miss Louise Stringfield. Mrs. Robert Hartley, who makes her home here with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Bowles, has returned after spend ing a month in Macon and other points in Georgia with friends and relatives. Dr. and Mrs. S. P. Gay have re turned from a trip North, which included stops in Baltimore, where the former attended the 100th an niversary of the founding of the first dental college in the United States, and Philadelphia and Wash ington. . Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Stovall and small son and daughter left Sun day for Gastonia, where they will visit the Rev. and Mrs. P. W. Tuck er, parents of Mrs. Stovall. Miss Mary Leo and Miss Betty Gene Alley, students at Montreat Junior Colletre. have been the guests of their mother, Mrs. F. E. Alley, Jr. Miss Jane Stentz, who has been attending Sullins College, spent the Easter, vacation here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J, Dale Stentz. . '.
