If the democracies really desire to preserve liberty of con science, speeeh, and choice of a way of life, let each man remem ber that there are not many ways of life for those who have been enlightened. The Institute of Person Religion (here and everywhere) aims only at helping the individual to go through personal training a good soldier: exercising himself in a METHOD of LIFE which works: practicing today the approved WAY first in the home, then in your first small group, and then in ever-widening circles. Thus any plain honest man dealing just ly in business, not keeping back the hire of a labourer: or, any wo man devoting herself as mother or friend, and cooking, cleaning, bak ing, mending and making, washing, and nursing for her independents;; or any couple honestly trying to be themselves God-fearing, and teach ing the children so, will be doing a work that i8 NOT SECOND TO THE WORK OF THE PRESI DENT OF U. A New Idea ; - S ,vr-' - Rotarians Find It Difficult To Distinguish Pasteurized Milk E, C. H. (Red) Rowland, who in 1915 wrote the world-famous Mademoi selle from Armentieres, has new idea for serving his country. Gen eral manager of a movie house in uitton, Surrey, he has organized his tovie-goers into collecting woolen tides and leaving them at the box 'flice for dispatch to the navy. Rotarians assumed the roles of milk tasters Friday, after hearing R. B. Davenport, manager of the Waynesville plant of Pet Dairy Products Company. The membership of the club in spected the Pet plant, and were then invited to sample milk from six bottles. Three of the bottles contained raw milk and three pas turized. Each Rotarian had his score kept, and not a single one scored 100 per cent from the six bottles. The final siorv guvt 69 per cent correct guesses. The members were carried into every department of the plant, from the hardening room where the temperature was about 10 de grees on out to the boiler room. During the course of his re marks, he poinU-d out that mill is the in the number 1 cash crop for American fanner, bringing more cash than wheat or cotton, more cash than all grain raised. "Milk brings the farmers almost twice as much as all the cotton, five times as much as all the tobac co and half agin as much as all fruits and vegetables, ebout 500 millions dollars a year more than hogs, and nearly 300 million moro than beef. "Milk is the one crop for which there is always a market regar 1 lesa of how much or how littla the farmer produces. It is one crop that docs not get thrown out, burned up or left to rot like soma fruit and vegetable bumper crops," Mr. Davenport concluded. THE BEGGAR'S LEGACY A Detroit woman rescued a beg gar in an alley fight six years ago, took him home, and, in true Samar itan fashion, washed his wounds. He repaid her by leaving her $11,- 000 in his will. As the years pass ed, the beggar doubtless forgot the anger and the anguish of the alley brawl. But this woman's kind ness was always with him. The world will remember the lit tle kindnesses long after it has for gotten its larger differences. For little kindnesses often are capable of healinc bit? differences. Some one has said that with enough kindness anyone can conquer the world. That is the only conquest worth having. Christian Science Monitor.
