Hardin was hostess to the members of the Dorcas Bell Love chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, at the De cember meeting which was held on Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. J. M, Long, regent, presided. During the business session, Mrs, J. F. Abel was selected correspond ing secretary to serve Kibe unex pired term of Mrs. E. P. Walker, who resigned upon moving to Char lotte. Mrs. Walker has been one of the valued members of the chap ter during her residence here. Mrs. Chas.fi. Quintan, chair man for war work activities of the chapter, stated that she had returned to her completed the 25 hospital shirts she had given out to be made at the last meeting, Announcement was made of the award of the Ruth Bryan citizen hip honor to Lois Massie, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. T. G. Massie. This award is given each year to a member of the senior class, the winner competing in a state con test . Mrs. 1 nomas M. seawell gave two readings, "Junaluska," and "To a Dutiful Daughter." Mrs. Kate Morns reviewed the national magazine, giving excerpts from the most interesting articles, The chapter voted to contribute five cents per capita for a scholor hip to the Indians. Special gueslts of the afternoon were Mrs. Wilfred Jackson, Mr.- Thomas M. Seawell, and Mrs. John M. Queen. FFA Boys Hosts To Home Economics Girls At Party Friday Night The members of the Smoky Mountains National Park chapter oi future farmers of America were hosts of a party on Friday flight in honor of the girls of the home economics department of the Waynesville high school. The affair was given in the chao- ter house with around forty-five guests in attendance; Arrange ment for the party were made by the standing committee on enter tainment: J. L. Frady, Joe Moody, ana aipn uenanx. A number of games were enjoy ed and all participated in the danc ing o fthe "Old Virginia reel." Wyatt Weds Miss Marie Nichols Of Whittier On 7th Mr. and Mrs. John Nichols, of Whittier, have announced the mar riage of their daughter, Miss Marie Nichols, to Glenn H. Wyatt. The wedding ceremony was per formed at the home of the Rev. John Hyatt in Whittier, on Decem ber 7. Mr. Hyatt officiated in the presence of a group of friends The bride wore a blue dress with wine accessories. She is a grad uate of the Sylva high school in the class of 1936. Since gradua tion she has been employed in Waynesville. The groom is a graduate of the Waynesville township high school in the class of 1933 and a son of Mr. and Mrs. Lon Wyatt, of Ha zelwood. Since graduation he has been employed by the A. C. Law- rence Leather Co., at Hazelwood. at present in the time keeping and standard department. He has for many years been a member of the Hazelwood baseball and Softball clubs. Following the ceremony on Sat urday Mr. and Mrs. Wyatt left for short wedding trip. They are residing on Brown Avenue, Hazel wood. Woman's Club Will Have Christmas Program At December Meeting Mrs. C. F. Kirkpatrick, chairman of literature and and Mrs. George A. Kunze, chairman of music, will have charge of the Christmas pro gram at the December meeting of the Woman's Club, which will be held on Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Hotel LeFaine. Hostesses of the afternoon will be in addition to Mrs. Kirkpatrick, Mrs. J. b. Barr, Miss Jessie Her- ren, and Miss Robena Miller.
