rel2 TUB WAYNESVILLE M0UNTA1 NEED THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 13, J DEATHS FLOYD H. BULLOCK Relative and friends here have been notified of the death of Floyd H. Bullock, 54, well known real' dent of Falmouth, Va., who died at ' his home on January the 16th. Fun eral services were held the follow ing Friday at the Falmouth Baptist church, with burial in the Berea Baptist church cemetery. Mr. Bullock was married some years ago to Miss Sallie Kate Jones, daughter of Mr. Henderson Jones, of Waynesville. He has often visited here. He was formerly employed by the E. F. and P. R. Railways. Mr. Bullock was a . native of Flovd County. Va., and had re sided in Falmouth for the past 24 years. He was a deacon of the Falmouth Baptist church, a teach er in t.he Sunday school, and was treasurer of the Civic Betterment Club, and took an active part in the life of his community. Surviving are his wife; three children. Mrs. James Cline, and Melrose Bullock, of Falmouth, and Floyd Harwood Bullock, Jr., U. S. Navy, who is stationed at Wake Island, in the Pacific Ocean; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Bullock, of Berea, and the follow ing brothers and sisters, all resi dents of Stafford, Va.: John and James Bullock, Mrs. Glenda En glish, Mrs. Joseph Smith, Mrs. Lucas Patton and Mrs. Luther Grinnan. Herbert Burnette, Clyde H. Ray. John Ray, Jerry Liner. Also John Kerley, Noble Fergu son, Spaldon Underwood, David Underwood. Cordell Evans, Sam Cabe, Wess Patton, John F. Cabe. Mack White, Frank Nichols, G rover Leatherwood, Jonathan Woody, James Noland, Millard Gaddis, Tom Cathey, Asbury Howell, C. C Francis, Roy Francis, Farl Fergu son, Jack Messer, Vaughn Palmer, Charlie Allison, J, L. Stringfield, and Dr. Frank Pate, of Canton. Mrs. McDaniel is the widow of the late C, L. McDaniel. She is sur vived by the following: four daughters, Mrs. Arthur Sheehan, Mrs. Sam Fulbngnt, Mrs. weta Bramlett, and Mrs. Hardy Liner, Jr., four sons, Frank McDaniel, Ed McDaniel, Wade McDaniel and Jack McDaniel: one brother. Joe Mc- Elroy; 21 grandchildren and two great grandchildren, all of Bay wood County. A. L. McELRATH Funeral services for A. L. Mc Elrath, 76, of Hazelwood, who died early Monday morning after a long illness, were held at the Bap tist church on Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock. The Rev. J. M. Wood ard, pastor of the church, officiated. Burial was in Maple Grove ceme tery.. A native of Buncombe county, he wa a son or wiuiam ana xainue Parham McElrath. He was a mem ber of the Hazelwood Baptist church and had been for many years active in Waynesville Mason ic circles. Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Raymond Crawford, with whom be made his home, two sons, Earl McElrath, of White Field, N. H, and John McElrath; a brother, Rev. Fate McElrath, of Leicester; one sister, Mrs. Julia S tines, of Candler and nine grandchildren. MRS. LAURA MILLS Last rites were held on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the resi dence in the Ninevah section for Mrs. Laura Mills, 47, wife of Dock Mills, who died at the Haywood County Hospital at 6:30 o'clock on Sunday night, twenty minutes af ter she had been entered as a patient. The Rev. S. B. M. Ghiselin, pas tor of the Hazelwood Presbyterian chart officiated. Burial was the Willets cemetery in Jackson eountv. Surviving are her husband, two sonsClyde and William Mills, ana one daughter. The Rev. Mando Stevens officiat ed. The Sylva Masonie lodge had - charge of the service at the grave. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Chapman "was with the Southern for forty years, the great er part of the time spent on the Murphy Branch. Surviving are his widow; one son, Jack Chapman, of Detroit, Mich., and one daughter, Mrs. Robert huler, of Sylva. MRS, SAM BLAYLOCK Funeral services were held yes terday morning at 11 o'clock at Dix Creek Baptist church for Mrs. Sam Blaylock, 61, who died at her home in the Bethel section of the county at 10:25 Monday moaning. Rev. Oder Burnett, pastor of the church, officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Blaylock was a native of Haywood county. She was before her marriage Miss Roxie Singleton, daughter of Anderson Singleton and Margaret Blaylock Singleton. Surviving are, her husband; six eons, Vance and Hugh, of Durham, Burton, Ralph, Harry and Garland, all of Canton, route 2; five daugh ters, Mrs. Will Deaver, Mrs. Wil burn Deitz, Miss Alice and Miss Clara Blaylock, all of Canton, route 2. and Mrs. Dewey Davis, of Dur ham; twenty-five grandchildren and one great grandchild. CALLIE McELROY McDANIEL Last rites were held at 2 o'clock on Sunday afternoon at the Maple Grove Methodist church for Mrs. Callie McElroy McDaniel, who died Saturday morning at her home fol lowing a short illness. The Rev. C. O. Newell, pastor, officiated. Burial was m the church cemetery.
