T. Rainer and Mrs. F. R. Kennedy. Both of these energetic women have made outstanding records during the past year with their flocks, by giving them undivided attention. Mrs. Rainer in ' telling of her flock of 145 Barred Rocks, said they were hatched March 9th of last year, and layed their first eggs in August. Since then they have produced 14,360, or 1,196 dozen eggs. ' 7 v , Mash, fresh water, oyster shell and grit are kept before them all at all times. At noon they are fed a few oats, and at night they are given all the corn they can eat When the weather is cold, they are given warm water and a warm mash in the mornings, Mrs Rainer explained. The birds are kept in the house until 2 o'clock. One phase of the successful poul try program of Mrs. Rainer is see ing that the birds have comtort able, clean and well ventilated houses. "These are essential to high egg production," she said. Mrs. Kennedy has a flock of 150 Utility Reds. These have pro duced 17,304 or 1,442 dozen eggs. bhe handles her flock in about the same manner as her sister, Mrs. Kainer. This is the flock of Mrs. F. R. Kennedy, also of Jonathan Creek. This flock of 150 was hutched last spring and has produced 1,442 dozen eggs.
