Much Discussed Warren Textbook Recalled Monday Historians Are Requested To Study Book And Make Corrections The Warren textbook, "North Carolina Yesterday and Today," which has stirred up so much ad verse criticism in state educational circles was recalled on Monday lor correction, following the closing of schools this spring. At the same time the state board of education voted to recall the book, Governor Broughton an nounced the receipt of and accep tance of Warren's resignation as member of the school commission. The resignation was made, the Governor said, "in View oi the fact that Warren is in a contractual relation with the state," since the state has contracted to buy the history he authored. A number of srrori in Warrens book have been pointed out by edu cators in the state, and the board of education recognied the book con tained errors by its action. The Governor said that Secre tary C. C. Crittenden, of the His torical Commission and H. A. Perry, superintendent of the divi sion of instructional service of the state board of education had been requested "to make a further stuay of the Warren book with the view of pointing out other errors and checking on those errors that have been pointed out" NINEVAH SECTION Mr; Davie Duckett and son, Carl, have returned home from Fort Bragg, where they have been em ployed.
