TOE WAYNESVILLE MOUNT AINEE3 THURSDAY, MAY 29 Draft Board Seeks Whereabouts Of One Isam Sutton When He Registered In Tennessee He Gave His Ad dress As Waterrille. Do you know the whereabout of one Isam Sutton ? If so, the local draft board would appreciate your assistance, for they have been making every effort to locate the man since May the 6th. Isam Sutton, 32, registered for service in Tennessee and the re iris trar of Cocke County, then sent his papers here as he gave his ad dress as Waterville, When he registered he gave his father's same, Randolph Sutton, as the person to write to in case he could not be located. To date neither Sutton or his father have been heard from. As he signed his papers with his mark, the local board has no rea son to think that he is trying to evade the law, but feel rather that be has not received the letters. When Sutton was last heard of locally he registered with the employment office in March, 1939, according to Mason Swearingen, and at that time he gave his ad dress as Waterville. When a local draft board fails to locate or get in touch with a draftee, they are required to send the name into the U. S. Attorney General who takes legal action against the man. The local board does not wish to turn Sutton over to the Federal authorities and are taking every means they can to find him. If he is not soon located, however, in compliance with the law, they will have to transfer the case to the office of the Attorney General ,. Sutton's number is 607 and he was mailed his questionnaire on May the 6th, which should have been returned by May the 11th. Since the latter date the draft board has been working on the case. The board is asking that any one in the county who has any information about Isam Sutton or bis father to either write to or call at the office on the third floor of the court house. y " " I X-WYoV -W.-s.
