League Underway The Junior .Softball league got underway this week " with a big bang (maybe a squabble or two too) with the boys playing their first games of the season. The league so far is composed of four teams, but Coach Weath- erby, who is directing the boys, expressed the hope that two more teams will join by next week. In order to ret a few mom hefty players the junior league decided to allow one professional player to a team provided he is under 17 years of age. Here is a list of the teams with their managers: Haselwood In dependents" Pig" Troutman: Haselwood lEagles "Laffle" Scruggs; Troop 3 Fred Martin; I ermites Bill Rogers. The return match between Louis and Baer is a natural, financially and from the point of view of art. But that doesn't alter the fact that if anybody is going to get Louis this year, he will have to get him quick. Three men, in other words, have a chance to take that title before the army take it Maybe four men. Abe Simon still has a tentative Summer date with the champ. In the probable order of their ap pearance, the last-ditch squad lines up as follows: 1. Conn. 2. Simon? t 3. Baer. 4. Nova.
