Two of the mills are owned and oper ated by the Green Brothers, Carl and Waldo, sons of Mr. and Mrs Wiley Green. They employ a number of men and logs are trucked from the vicinity and distant points. The other mill is owned by V. B. Green, merchant of this section, His mill will be ready for sawing the latter part of the week. Just beiore I reached QTugene Talmadge's farm, the rain stopped. As I drove up to his gas tank on tne nignway, a half 'dozen fat mules, with men astride them, came in from the fields. A country boy told me that they needed rain badly. I couldn't understand this for Governor Tal .ajrra nrnmised rain rieht after the June elections and he usually keeps his promises. I got to winn ing though that maybe he didn't have any special prestige with the Lord or his crops would have had rain. ' In Atlanta, I spent the night with Louise Barili, Her great aunt was the famous singer, Ade lina Patti. Louise teaches piano and voice. Next day I left for Balsam. I was glad when I finally reached Rushaven, my mountain home, for I need the peace and quiet of God's hills and valleys after a hectic winter in a busy city.
