This week-end The Food Store la observing their seventh anniver sary, by staging a sale event that will mean savings in ult ol their departments, according to Emmett Balentine, co-owner and general managwr. Seven years ago when the store opened on Main street, about five salesmen were all that were needed to serve the customers. Today, eleven men are employed, besides a bookkeeper, un aaiuraays ex tras are brought in. This gives some idea of the growth of the business during the past seven years. Every year has seen some pro gressive move made in ine store Only recently, the produce and veg etable counters were rebuilt and rearranged whereby all fruits Bnd vegetables were confined into one section of the store, thus making selection and service easier. "Everyone of our men are given special instructions as to render ing efficient and quick service." Those in the grocery and pro duce departments are; E. H, Bul entine, David Taylor, Emmett Green, Kenneth Clemment, Ned Glavish, together with two janitors, Ernest Dalton, and James Casey. On Saturdays extra salesmen in clude: Johnny Cuddeback and Rich ard Jones. Miss Olive Jane Green, is bookkeeper. Groceryman E. H. BALENTINE Two years ago a new and mod ern front was built to the store, giving one entrance from the side, with the front utilized lor display purposes, A few weeks ago. large display counters were built down the cen ter of the store, giving a full dis play of goods on both sides of the shelves, The market has three men, be sides a colored helper who dresses chickens. The grade "A" market is under the direction of Leon Henry. He is assisted by Robert Hall and Frederick Nichols.
