Herman, teacher. Assisting in serving the children were Doro thy Moody, Virginia Jackson, and Kosemary Herman. Candies and balldons were given as favors. Thomas Honored With Luncheon Thursday Mrs. Harry Rotha entertained with a luncheon on Thursday as courtesy to Mrs. James R. Thom as, who has recently returned from an extended trip to California, and who will leave the last of this week for Lenoir City, Tenn., where she will spend the winter. Howell The December meeting of the Dorcas Bell Love chapter of the DAR will be held with Mrs. J. Miss Margaret Stringfield will be in charge and discuss a paper on Christmas music prepared by the late Mrs. Camp. Dinner Honoring Mrs. Mary Downs Given On Her 82nd Birthday Mrs. Marv Downs was given a dinner on Sunday, November 23, at her home in Iron Duff, in observ ance of her eighty-second birthday. Roosevelt Post American Legion Mrs. Elsie Lattimer, who with her husband, the late Clifford Lat timer, lived here for several years, and is now making her home in New York City, has recently been made commander of the Sara De lano Roosevelt post of the Amer ican Legion. Mrs. Lattimer and her husband were both veterans of the World War, she as a trained nurse had extensive service overseas.
