THE WAYNESVILLE MOUNTAINEER DAR Oiapter Buys Hundred Dollar Defense Bond ' The December meeting of the Pores Bell Love Chapter which was held with Mrs. J. Harden HoweQ an Friday afternoon at her home "Windover" was in memory of the late Mrs. Florence Alvord Camp, former regent and a mem ber of the chapter for more than twenty-fire years. Hiss Margaret Stringfield read a paper on Christmas music writ ten by Mrs. Camp, in which many interesting stories connected with Che more famous carols were given. In dosing; Miss Stringfield read a poem as n tribute to Mrs. Camp. Mrs. J. F. Abel reviewed the magazine, reading the message of the President General, and gave excerpts from some of the most .outstanding articles. . During the afternoon tha chanter voted to buy a one hundred dollar defense, hand, each member pledg ing to give one dollar, and the re mainder to be taken from the chap ter treasury, Mrs. L. M. Kfllian, chairman of the used stamps committee, which is collecting cancelled stamps, to oe sent to England from which the dyes will be extracted and sold for the benefit of a crippled children's hospital, asked the members to send in their collections to her at in early date. Announcement was made of the patriotic rally which will be held at the court house on Monday night, which is being sponsored by the chapter and other historical groups.
