' T SPORT HAPPENINGS By HYATT J. D. HYATT HELLO SPORT FANS ! Let's talk for a while about tennis this week. Have you ever played tennis? Those of you that have know what a swell game it is . once you start catching on to the finer points of the game it just seems to grow on you ... and although it's not as bone-crushing as some of the other sports, it is by no means a "sissy's" game. You haven't heard so much about tennis before this because there are no courts to play on . there are a few private courts around but just anybody can't play on these, they re reserved mostly for private use anyway. There are quite a few young people around here who would like to play the game if they had a chance ... and there are also a number of visitors who would like to play if the facilities were available. Not so long ago we asked what had ever happened to the two or three courts which were promised the High School . . . nobody seemed to know, but we still think it was a good idea. If the High School had several courts I'm sure it would be a welcome addition for the students of the school to the athletic program. There are always a number of students who would like to enter into the athletic program if they felt that they could compete in ) the sports that they now have with fellows perhaps a lot heavier or more brawnier. It doesn't take weight or muscle to excell in tennis . . just quick thinking, lithness and a lot of stamnia. I think it would be interesting to work up several tennis teams and hold tournaments . . . and after a while it would become just as popular as football or basketball. PLAY TENNIS!
