SUGAR Coupon No. 10 in War Ration Book One is good for three pounds of sugar until January 31. GASOLINE By January 31 motorists must have auto tires inspected. Official coupon books. No. 3 coupons are good for three gallons of gas until January 22. Value of B and C coupons now set at three gallons. January 31 will be the last day temporary "T" coupons will be issued directly by rationing boards. Beginning on February 1, "T" rations will be issued on the basis of ODT certificates of War Necessity. By January 21 motorists must have auto tires inspected. Official OPA inspectors are now designated at filling stations, garages, tire shops and other places about town that will check all tires on cars and make reports on the tire inspection record. WAR RATION BOOK ONE January 15 marks the deadline for obtaining Rationing Book One. Persons who do not have this book should apply today to the local board. Babies one month old should be registered for Book One, other wise they will not receive the book after the 15th. Waynesville Trims Fines Creek, 35-15 The Waynesvilk' high school's Mountaineer boys scored an easy 35 to 15 victory over Fines Creek on the local court Tuesday after noon. The Mountaineer lads have not been defeated so far this srason, but due to several of thp players being inducted into the army to gether with their coach, Carl Rat cliff, the remainder of the season is unpredictable. Rathbone) The state highway crews have been working on a new bridge at the intersection of the Fines Creek highways just above the Fines Creek high school. This bridge will be much better and safer for the school bus that must pass over it to and from school each day to transport the Jaories Branch and Cove school children to school. Mrs. Waldo Green was hostess Saturday night to a miscellaneous shower given in honor of Mrs. Rufus Honeycutt, who before her recent marriage to Sergeant Honeycutt of Fort Bragg, was Miss Anne Davidson, formerly of .vlooresville, and now a teacher in the Fines Creek school. There were many present for the occa sion and Mrs. Honeycutt was the recipient of many lovely and use ful gifts. Uncle Spencer Green has been sick for quite a while, but is feel ing much better now. Mrs. Frank Kirkpatrick had a letter from her husband, who re cently was inducted in the U. S. service, that he was now located in Oklahoma, Mr. Kirkpatrick was a teacher in the Fines Creek school and the son of Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Kirkpat rick, of Fines Creek. His wife, the former Miss Katherine Green, is also a teacher in the Fines Creek school and she is residing with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Faraday Green. Raymond Green, who is employ ed at Wilmington, had the misfor tune recently to get a crushed hand. Mr. Green is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Green, of Fines Creek.
