Cogdill Last rites were held Thursday afternoon at the North Canton BppMst church at 4 o'clock for William J. Cogdill, 65, of North Canton who di d suddenly Tuesday afternoon. The Rev. H. K. Mastel ler and the Rev. Hobert Rogers officiated. Burial was in Bon-A-Ven'ure CFmetery. Mr. Cogdill was a native of Madi son crunty, but had res'ded in this coun'y for many years. H.3 was a carpenter and was formerly em ployed by the Champion Paper and Fibre Company. Serving as pallbsarrers were: Garfield Miller, T. C. Allen, Paul Robinson, Troy Div;s, Haywood Mff' ey and Frank Byers. Surviving are his widow; two Sfns, Don of West Asheville, and Wallace of Wilmington, Del.; three grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. H. S. Davis of Mad:son coun ty, Mrs. Billy Ask:w of Madison county and Mrs. Retta Vowles, of Inglewood, Colo. FIRST METHODIST CHURCH J. C. Madison, Pastor. Church School, with classes for ail ages, opens at 10:00 o'clock. At the morning hour the Dastor will speak on the subject, "The Open Door." The interests of Bre vard College will be stressed at this service and an offering will be tak en for that institution. Musical talent frjm Brevard will partici pate in the service. A 1IC IVC I. IV. A . I'll. Cracken and the R v. T. H. Parris off ciated. Burial was in the Z.on Hill cemetery. Grandsons served as pallbearers I and Granddaughters were in charge j of the flowers. Mrs. Hill was a native of Hay wood cru:ty ard is survived by h r husband, Mark J. Hill; two sons, Frank and Ben Hill, of Cycle; one daughter, Mrs. Herschel Hayn- es, of Clyde; 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; four broth ers, Al Lin.r, of Canton, Reel Liner, of Buffalo, S. C., Lewis Liner, of Greenwood, S. C, and Marion Lin- r, of the Crabtree section of the county. The Wells Funeral Home of Can ton was in charge of the arrangements. CiJES CHRISTIAN SCIENCE LESSON-SERMON The assembly rooms are located on the second floor of the Masonic Temple. The subject of the lesson-sermon will be "God the Only Cause and Creator."
