S Fuller Roberson, 49, veteran of World War I, who was killed wh'le on a routine training flight from Wendover field, Salt Lake City Utah. The Rev. H. G. Hammett, pastor, officiated. Burial was in Green Hill ermetery, with the locsl unit of the State Guard'conducting a military ritual at the grave. Cap tain Frank Byrd was in charge of the ceremonies. Active pallbearers were: Captain Frank Byrd, Lt. Roy Ruff, Sgt. Rufus Lemming, Sgt. Carroll Whitner, Sgt. Hobart Williams and Cpl. Jack Snyder, all members of the State Guard unit. Honorary pallbearers were mem bers of the local post of the Ameri can Legion of which Sgt. Roberson was a member, and the following: Jonathan Woody, Robert Hugh Clark, W. F. Swift, E. S. Slack, Dill Howell, G. C. Plott, J. P. Dicus, T. C Norris and Walter Mehaffey, all of Waynesville; Levi Buckner, Eldridg? Hill, Arthur Duck, Lee Maynard,, Clayton Boone, Bunyon Beaver and William Duck, all of Buckner Sgt. Roberson was a native of Waynesville, the son of W. W. Roberson, who now resides in Buckner and the late Mrs Rober son, of Waynrsville. At the time he volunteered in the present war he was postmaster at Buckner, having resided there since 19.16. He entered the service in the pres ent war in Nov., 1942. Sgt. Roberson was listed miss ing by his commanding officer on Dec. 30, after his pane was over due, but the wreckage of the plane was not located until Jan. 1. Two planrs in routine flight had ap parently collided and both crashed killing a total of twenty persons, according to the press association dispatches. The wreckage of the planes was found on the west shore of th? Great Salt Lake, within 100 yards of each other. The planes were part of a group of five which left the field for routine flying. In addition to his wife, the for mer Miss Mabel Smith, of Waynes ! lie, and his father, Sgt. Rober son is survived by one brother Everett A. Roberson, of Buckner; three niec s, Miss Catherine Jones, and Miss Thelma Jones, of Way nesville, and Miss Betty Smith, of Canton; three nephews, Sam Jones, Jr., of Waynesville, Bobby Smith, of Canton and Ever:tt A. Rober son, Jr., of Buckner. Pigeon River Lodge Officers Installed In Canton Thursday Newly elected officers of the Pigeon River Masonic Lodge of Canton were installed at the regu lar communication held on Thurs day evening, according to P. B York, lodga secretary. In the group were: Bruce G Nanney, master; J. L. Duke, senior warden; Claud E. Swafford, jun ior warden; J. D. Mackey and Wade H. Rhea, deacons; Paul Robinson and R. Bennett Hipps, stewards; Joe Powell, tyler; James E. Henderson, chaplain; Samuel R Felmet, treasurer and P. B. York, secretary. Second Soldier; "Yoo ain't seen nothin' yet. That's just the top of it."
