Sgt. Leatherwood I Posthumously (Given Awards i I Staff Sergeant William Earl ! Leatherwood, son of Mrs. Mattie Byers Leatherwood and the late J. T. Leatherwood. of Clyde, who was killed in action in England on j November 21, 194-1. has been post ! humously given a number of I awards, it was learned from his wife, the former Miss Harriet Chambers. hgl. Leatherwood was serving with a H-24 Liberator Bomber at the time he was missing. He h.-u volunteered in the service and had been overseas for the past five months. His wile has received the Purple iieari. wincn was awarded him. a, citation oi Honor, a certihcate in grateful memory of his services siflned by President Roosevelt, the Air Medal and an Oak Leaf clus ter to his Air Medal.
