j at the residence on North Main
j Street on Thursday afternoon for
j Hoy O. Davis, 57, veteran of World
j War 1, who died at his home here
at 12:0l o'clock after a long ijlness.
Hev. L. G. Elliott, pastor of the
1' i, t liaptist Church officiated. The
Waynesville post of the American
Legion served as active and hon
orary pallbearers and had charge
of the final rites at the grave. "Bur
ial was in Green. Hill cemetery.
Mr Davis wts a native of Way
nesvUle and was the son of the
late l.ee and Mary Young Davis.
Surviving are three brothers,
('red and Homer, of Waynesville,
and Harry Davis, of R.F.D. No. 1,
Pickens, S. C; three sisters, Mrs.
W. A. Whitney of Hazelwood; Miss
Nita Davis, of Wayneville and Mrs
Josephine Foskey, of Los Ange
lese, Calif.; his stepmother, Mrs.
Mary Davis of Canton, one half
sister, Miss Rosa Lee Davis, of
Canton, and one half brother, Mar
vin Davis, gunner's mate U. S.
Navy; and a number of nieces and
nephews.
Garrett funeral home was in
charge of the arrangements.

cemetery in Belgium. Services

MISTER PELTZ IS PEEVED !

But one price stubbornly stays down at pre-war levels. It's the
price of electricity. It upsets the neat cost-of-living curves. It upsets

We're sorry to offend Mister Peltz, but glad that we've been
able to keep electricity plentiful and cieap when so many things
are scarce and expensive.
