Smith was wounded in France on November 21. 1944. and was awarded the Purple Heart. He is entitled to wear in addi tion to the Purple Heart. the American Theatre ribbon, the Kiuopean Theatre ribbon, the In fantryman's badge. Good Conduct medal and one combat star.
