(One Day Nearer Victory) THURSDAY, My THE WAYNCSVILLE MOUNTAINEER f Vigt 6Setion Section Senior Banquet, March Of Time Theme, Staged In Colorful Effect Around one hundred and fifty persons, including members of the class, faculty and special guests attended the senior banquet of the class of 1945 of the Wayncsville Township high school which was held Saturday evening in the cafe teria of the Hazelwood elementary school. The March of Time was the theme of the program which was cleverly worked out in all the ap pointments and features. The opening number was the grand march with Birthday grouping led by Father Time, impersonated by Noble Garrett, Jr., and the Calen dar Girls. A toast was given to the president of the class by Virgil Hogland, to which Joe Turner re sponded J. D. Kelley Have the class his tory by the clock. Joanne Boone, class poet read the class poem. Magician style. Miss Margaret Terrell, "acuity advisor gave a toast (o the seniors In which iiarbara I'ranci.s responded. Marguerite Way gave Hie class prophecy on the "Fortune Wheel." revealing as she turned the wheel the fate of her classmates. Com plaint. The Looking Glass Way was give nby Carolyn Uurgin. Scotty Clark gave a toast to the faculty to which M. II. Bowles, district sup erintendent of schools responded Margaret Brendlc presented the "Last will and Testament" of the class. Hogan has been awarded the air medal with nine oak leaf clus ters, the Kuropean theater ribbon, two battle stars, and a Presiden tial citation lor duties performed in the Mediterranean theater of opera! ion Mrs Hogan is Hie former Miss Polly I'ranci.s, and is now making her home with her parents, Mr. and Mrs Henry Francis.
