Miss Katheryn Queen, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Queen,
of Waynesville. who has been with
the State Office of U. S. Employ
ment Service for the past two and
one half years as supervisor of
interviewers, has been promoted
and is now placement specialist
with the state office. Her duties
will take her over the state, but
she will continue to maintain head
quarters in Raleigh
Miss Queen was at one time an
interviewer with the iocal U. S.
employment ottice and then went
to Ualeigh, where she first held
a position with the N C Unem
ployment Compensation Commis
sion as claims examiner.

University, is state secretary of
the North Carolina Chapter of the
International Association of Pub

of Honor was held on Monday
night at the Bethel high school,
with W. P. Whitesides, chairman,
presiding. Around 135 Haywood
Scouts attended the court. William
Whitesides served as clerk of the
court and the colors were advanc
