S N.. has reported to Memphis Train ing Center, after spending several days leave here with his wife, the former Miss Margaret Hyatt, and his young daughter, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest J. llyatl. He has recently been attached to Patrol Bombing Squadron 111 which operated bases on Pacilic Islands. His was the vitally im portant job' of seeing I hat his squadrons hig four-motored Libe rators were kept in fighting order at all times. Though the primary mission of his squadron was to search out and report back movements of the enemy's fleet, air or land forces, the Liberator crews often inflicted heavy damage on enemy shipping and installation. lie has seen action on the Iionin Islands, the Philippines, and I lie ! recent Okinawa invasion and prior to his Pacilic war cruise he was in j combat service in North Africa. ! He is entitled to wear the Pre i Pearl Harbor ribbon; Good Con- duet. Yanlzo medal, Nort h-Afri. aii European ribbon, Asia! ic-Paei('x theater, American Theater, Philip pine Liberator and four combat stars. He is the son of Mrs W.
